Myth # 6: I'm not bothering anyone, and I like other people to hear what I have to say. Besides, people like to eavesdrop on my conversation.
Myth Buster Most people are focused on what they need to accomplish during the day, and they would rather not have their thoughts or reading/ working time interrupted.

Cell Phone Etiquette
1. Cell phones should only be used to place or receive a brief call in a public place, such as “Mom, I made it home O.K., or I'm running late.
2. If you need to have a longer conversation, either complete it before you enter a place of business, or go outside to complete your call.
3. Keep your voice level normal or even below the normal level, do not raise your voice.
4. Switch your phone to vibrate when you are in a public place.
5. Hang up when you are at a cash register, order counter, teller window, etc.
6. Utilize your voice mail feature.
7. Always respect a business' request, either visually, with a no phone sign, or verbally to turn your phone off.
People are answering their cellular telephones virtually everywhere. What has become of human interaction and common
courtesy for others? Mobile telephones are used at cash
registers, gyms, business counters, doctor's offices,
theaters, schools, and virtually any other place
you can think of.
While recently on vacation and enjoying a leisurely lunch
along side a tranquil bay, I was suddenly snapped to
attention by the man at a table behind me. He was
howling into his cell phone, "Hey dude," he screamed.
"I'm in par-a-dise, the sky is sooo blue and bee-u-ti-ful."
Every person in the cafe turned around and was looking at him in disbelief, but no one uttered a word to him. Instead as he continued howling into his cell phone, each patron quickly paid the tab and fled, thus leaving the Howler in complete control of the cafe.
Cellular telephones should never be used or answered when
interacting with another person, and should only be
used outside of most places of business. Calls should be
completed before stepping into a place of business or by
stepping outside to receive an incoming call. By extending
a few simple considerations towards others, we can maintain
a balance between cellular use and personal space.
